Free SEO, AI and GEO toolSERP simulator

Enter a title, a meta description and an address, or just a page's address: the simulator shows how Google displays them on desktop and on mobile. It measures their width in pixels, flags anything likely to be cut off and points out that this title is also, often, the one AI platforms show when they cite your page.

How to use the simulator

  1. Paste your title and meta description, or the address of a page that's already live.
  2. Switch between the desktop and mobile previews.
  3. Shorten whatever is cut off, until the essentials fit in full.

Why measure in pixels

Google doesn't count characters: it cuts off the title and description when they're wider than the screen. A “W” takes up much more space than an “i”, so two 60-character titles don't take up the same width. The simulator measures each letter in a font close to Google's and applies the limits usually observed, updated when Google changes its display.

Google sometimes rewrites your titles

Google may show something other than your title when it considers it incomplete, outdated or misleading. It then draws on the H1, the og:title tag, other prominent text on the page, or the links pointing to it. To avoid this: one unique title per page, which genuinely describes its content and matches the H1.

And in AI answers?

When ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google cite their sources, they often show the page title and the site name. A clear title therefore also helps someone reading an AI answer to choose your page. To find out whether AI platforms cite you, start the free AI SEO audit.

Frequently asked questions: SERP simulator, SEO, AI and GEO

What is a SERP in simple words?

SERP is short for Search Engine Results Page: the page of results that a search engine shows. On Google, it mixes links, AI overviews, maps and other blocks.

How long should a title tag be?

Google doesn't set any limit: it cuts the title off to fit the screen. In practice, 50 to 60 characters are shown in full most of the time; the simulator confirms it in pixels.

Why isn't Google showing my title?

It replaces it when it considers it incomplete, outdated or unrelated to the content, for example with your H1. A precise title that matches the page limits these rewrites.

Is the preview accurate?

It's indicative. Google keeps changing its display and adapts each result to the device. The simulator reproduces the usual display, not every variation.

Does the simulator show AI Overviews?

No. These answers are written by Google from several pages. To find out whether AI platforms cite your business, start the free AI SEO audit; AI Overviews are tracked in the paid plans.
